New Isuzu D-Max V-Cross gets commercial model from £41,995

Isuzu is launching a two-seater commercial model from its top-of-the-range D-Max V-Cross. But is this new workhorse strictly business?
Isuzu is adding a new tool to the trade with the launch of its D-Max V-Cross Commercial. In classic car-derived van style — think Toyota's commerical Land Cruiser or Dacia’s Spring Cargo — Isuzu have taken a top-spec D-Max, whipped out the rear seats, and created a two-seater workhorse.
We reckon commercial vehicles need to strike a balance. To survive in the working world, they must be practical and durable, but as you’ll be spending your 9 to 5 in here, a few creature comforts are required to make it a sustainable option long term. So, does the commercial D-Max manage to offer the best of both worlds?
Picking up jobs
On the business side of things, the D-Max is shaping up to be pretty capable. By installating a loading zone in place of the double cab’s second row of seats, Isuzu’s unlocked a new secure cargo area, in addition to the rear bed. And if you’re worried about prying eyes landing on your precious cargo or equipment, fear not, the back windows have been tinted for extra security.

The bed has also been fit with a rugged liner, covered by a lightweight commercial canopy, and has had a tow bar complete with electronic towing systems strapped on to its back. Speaking of towing, in addition to the hefty 1-tonne payload, the D-Max also maintains its 3.5-tonne towing capabilities.
And of course, being based on the V-Cross variant, the robust four-wheel-drive system is here too. Complete with a rear differential lock and ‘Rough Terrain Mode’, tricky working environments from uneven worksites to muddy agricultural environments should pose no issues for the D-Max.

Inner peace
The interior, however, is a haven from the rugged industrial settings the Isuzu aims to operate in. As some further bonuses of that high-spec V-Cross base, the driver is treated to leather upholstery trim, dual-zone climate control, and heated front seats. But fear not, whether it’s to defend against muddy boots, or sandwich crumbs, the seats come with protective covers to keep that plush interior, plush.
Keeping you entertained on long-haul shifts (or extended lunch breaks) the dashboard features a sizeable 9-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside a 7-inch information display, and an 8-speaker sound system. To make life a little easier for extended journeys, there are plenty of driving assists too, including the likes of adaptive cruise control and traffic jam assist.

When can you have it?
The V-Cross Commercial is available to order now from £41,995, with customer deliveries expected to land in November 2025.
So, Isuzu has set out to create a pickup that combines the capabilities of a commercial vehicle and the comfort of a top-end passenger car — with a generous sprinkling of off-road prowess.
