Should I change both tyres on my motorcycle?

It is not strictly necessary to change both motorcycle tyres at the same time.

In most cases, rear tyres wear out faster than front tyres due to the increased load and power delivery through the rear wheel, so as a result, it’s quite common for riders to replace the rear tyre first while the front still has sufficient tread.

However, there are situations where replacing both tyres together is advisable. If both tyres are approaching the end of their lifespan, changing them at the same time can help maintain consistent handling, braking, and grip characteristics over the long term.

Ultimately, whether you replace one or both tyres depends on their individual condition, age, and usage pattern.

If the front tyre still has ample tread and remains in good condition, replacing just the rear is acceptable.

But for optimal safety and performance, it’s often beneficial to replace both when wear levels are similar or if you're looking for a fresh, balanced ride experience.
