Do motorcycles have TPMS?

Many motorcycles do come equipped with a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), particularly modern and/or higher-end bikes. However, it is not yet a legal requirement in the UK or EU, unlike in new passenger cars.

For bikes that don’t have it as standard, there are a wide range of aftermarket TPMS kits available, which can be fitted directly to the valve stems or inside the tyre.

A TPMS helps monitor tyre pressure in real time and alerts the rider if pressure drops below or rises above safe levels. This can be a crucial safety feature – underinflated tyres are a major cause of motorcycle accidents, and early warnings can help riders avoid blowouts, poor handling, or premature motorcycle tyre wear.
