How often should I service my electric car?

Electric cars still need regular servicing, though often less frequently than petrol or diesel vehicles due to the vehicles having far less components. Therefore, most manufacturers recommend servicing an electric car once a year or every 15,000 to 20,000 miles, whichever comes first.

While EVs don’t require oil changes or exhaust checks, they still need key areas inspected, such as the brakes, tyres, suspension, and coolant systems.

As with any car, it’s important to follow your manufacturer’s service schedule. Even though electric cars tend to have fewer moving parts and can be cheaper to maintain, skipping services can lead to missed issues and may affect your warranty.

Keeping up with regular servicing helps to preserve battery health, maintain safety, and ensure your EV performs as it should.
