Help > Car Servicing > Does a full service include brake fluid change?
A brake fluid change is not usually included as standard in a full service, but your brake fluid will be checked during the service.
Mechanics will inspect the condition and level of your brake fluid to ensure it is performing effectively.
If your brake fluid is found to be dirty, degraded, or nearing the end of its recommended lifespan, the garage may recommend a brake fluid change as an additional service.
Most manufacturers recommend changing your brake fluid every 2 years or 20,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Over time, brake fluid absorbs moisture, which can reduce its effectiveness and impact braking performance.
Even if your car feels fine to drive, old or contaminated brake fluid can compromise your ability to stop safely – particularly in emergency situations.
