What is the difference between an interim and full service?

An interim service is a shorter, more basic check designed to keep your car running smoothly between full services. It typically includes essential checks such as oil and filter changes, fluid top-ups, and inspections of key components like brakes, tyres, and lights.

A full service is a more comprehensive inspection that covers everything included in an interim service, plus additional checks on areas such as suspension, steering, and the vehicle’s cooling system. Full services often involve replacing key components that are subject to wear and tear, like air filters or spark plugs, depending on your car’s maintenance schedule.

Interim services are recommended every six months or 6,000 miles, especially for high-mileage drivers, while a full service is typically carried out once a year or every 12,000 miles.

Regularly combining a full service with your MOT is a great way to ensure your car stays safe, efficient, and reliable.
