Few cars have more demands made on them than the Mercedes-AMG EQE SUV.

After all, here’s a car that has to live up to the AMG performance standard while still delivering a practical battery range. Oh, and it has to work as a luxury car, an SUV, comfortable family car… You get the idea.

With expectations so high, then, it’s little wonder that Mercedes-AMG calls this its most versatile car ever. Helping it along are twin electric motors, which dish up anything from 476hp to a sensational 687hp depending on whether you choose the 43 4MATIC or 53 4MATIC+ models.

With that sort of power, allied to four-wheel drive, this EQE SUV can go from 0- 62mph in as little as 3.5 seconds. That’ll be the AMG performance box well and truly ticked, then.

Drive the EQE with a bit of an eye on battery range and it can cover up to 294 miles on a single charge. You won’t be hanging around recharging stations for long, either, as this EV can top up the battery with more than 100 miles of range in less than 15 minutes. Then you can be back on the road and enjoying the EQE SUV’s hushed drive or its effortless cornering.

So many competing talents from just one car requires some very special thinking, which is why the Mercedes-AMG EQE SUV comes with the Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyre.

Not only can it deliver the grip on the road that’s expected by AMG’s designers and drivers, it offers the quiet and efficiency EV owners insist on. All this and the Pilot Sport EV can also work just as well with the EQE SUV’s Slippery driving mode and the Race Start function just as precisely.

On top of all that, the EQE SUV comes with potent brakes needed to rein in the AMG side of the car when it counts, and the Michelin Pilot Sport EV does its job with equal composure.

Of course, all of this would count for nothing if the EQE SUV didn’t look every bit as stylish as it performs. Well, you can consider that another big plus taken care of as this EV comes on 21- or 22-inch alloy wheels depending on which you prefer, and it looks the business. There’s the perfect blend of restrained Mercedes style coupled to AMG hints of muscle, and you get a bespoke AMG bonnet badge to let others subtly know this is a seriously quick machine.

Inside, the EQE SUV can be ordered with the optional curved Hyperscreen, which seamlessly links three digital displays across the whole of the dash. Its futuristic looks contradict how easy it is to use and most functions can be worked using voice commands. You can also make life even simpler with the Electric Intelligence mode that finds the best routes to save time, energy and hassle, as well as taking you to the most convenient charge station.

With that sort of tech on hand in the Mercedes-AMG EQE SUV, it means this EV has no trouble at all meeting every demand placed on it with unflappable ease.
