The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 is a high performance tyre, developed from the experience gained from endurance competitions.
Michelin's Pilot Sport Cup 2 is a tyre designed for the track, and approved for road use.
Michelin has designed the tyre's tread pattern to have deeper grooves compared with previous versions of the Cup tyre range - providing motorists with greater wet grip and improved safety on wet roads.
Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres are available in 17 inch, 18 inch, 19 inch, 20 inch and 21 inch rim tyre sizes.
Michelin has made use of two different compounds within the tyre's tread. A High Molecular Chain elastomer that delivers excellent grip when cornering, as well as a rigid compound for optimising the steering control and wet grip.
The tyre features track longevity technology 2.0, delivering slower wear on the outer shoulder. A reinforced external shoulder with a specially selected rubber compound makes the tyre highly resistant to wear.
The Pilot Sport Cup 2 is currently manufactured in 1 variant of tyre:
Please note: before you select your tyres, ensure that the tyre size that you intend to order are the correct variant and matches your vehicle type.
What are summer tyres?
Summer tyres are specifically designed for warm weather conditions, particularly during the summer season. This type of tyre performs best when in seasons with warmer temperatures - above 7°C.
How does a summer tyre perform better in summer?
The technologies and tread patterns used in a summer tyre mean the tyres have high-quality features that are of benefit to driving in warm conditions. They typically use a softer rubber compound – designed for good grip and traction when driving on dry and wet roads.
Can you use summer tyres in winter?
Whilst summer tyres still offer adequate performances in wet and cooler conditions, it is recommended that you change. The tread design and technologies that are featured in summer tyres can harden in colder temperatures, resulting in reduced flexibility and decreased traction on snow and ice.
