Michelin Road 6 vs Road 6 GT

Michelin Road 6 vs Road 6 GT

Michelin are best known for their production of premium car tyres, van tyres, and most relevant to this article, bike tyres.

A successful series within their motorbike tyre model range is the Road series, a line of bike tyres that have been present on the market for the best part of two decades.

Two of the recent models from the popular series is the Road 6 and the Road 6 GT.

This article will be comparing the two tyre models to see how they match up.

Road 6 Overview

Introduced by Michelin in 2022, the Michelin Road 6 stands out as a top quality motorcycle tyre.

Boasting an innovative tread pattern combined with 100% Silica Technology tread compounds, the Road 6 offers a 15% improvement in grip over the tyre’s predecessor, the Michelin Road 5.

This tyre's compound not only enhances performance but also extends its lifespan by 10% compared to its predecessor.

The inclusion of Michelin’s Aramid Shield Technology further fortifies the tread, providing superior stability. Additionally, the Road 6 benefits from Michelin’s 2CT+ Technology, which significantly boosts the tyre’s stability.

As a worthy successor to the Road 5, the Michelin Road 6 has received high praise from both industry experts and customers.

Road 6 GT Overview

The Michelin Road 6 GT was released by Michelin along with the standard Road 6 in 2022.

Much like the Road 6, the GT variation features 2CT+ Technology, improving the tyre's rigidness and stability when cornering.

Unlike the Road 6, however, the Road 6 GT is developed with Michelin’s Reinforced Radial-X Evo Technology. This new generation of X-radial provides a solution for heavy motorbikes, enhancing comfortability of driving.

Michelin’s Water Evergrip Technology arrives on the Road 6 GT, increasing the wet grip to enhance safety during wet driving conditions.

A version of the Road 6 that caters to stability of heavier loads, the Road 6 GT is a fantastic option for bike riders looking for their next motorcycle tyre.
