Ferrari unleashes the ultimate SF90 XX

Michelin Tyres

Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it? Not Ferrari, that’s for sure, as it’s just unveiled the ultimate version of its SF90 called the XX.

Offered in Stradale coupe or Spider open-top versions, this is the first XX track car from Ferrari that’s also road legal, so you get the best of both worlds.

If you’re among the select 599 customers for the Spider or 799 chosen for the Stradale, you’ll have an extra 30bhp to play with over the standard SF90. That means a hybrid power total of 1015bhp from the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors.

Further demonstrating that Ferrari knows how it’s customers can enjoy sensational performance and environmental credentials, the lightened SF90 XX is capable of 0-62mph in just 2.3 seconds and 199mph yet it can also cover up to 16 miles of zero emissions EV driving.

This is the same battery driving range as the standard SF90, but you won’t mistake the XX for its sibling as this is the first Ferrari to feature a fixed rear wing since the limited edition F50 of 1995.

Other track-honed kit on the SF90 XX includes a Formula 1-style Qualifying mode to give up to 30 bursts of extra power per journey as the car leaves a corner when the driver’s foot is flat to the floor on the accelerator pedal. There’s also a rear light bar similar to that of the Le Mans-winning 499P.

Suitably serious rubber has also been optioned by the experts in Maranello, with customers choosing between two high performance Michelin models: Pilot Sport Cup 2 and the track-focused Cup 2R.

If you’re one of the lucky few to grab a slice of this Ferrari brilliance, you’ll be handing over £660,000 for the Stradale and £730,000 for the Spider. That’s double the price of a standard SF90, but then the XX is no normal car.
