All season tyres are now one of the fastest growing parts of the UK tyre market – and 2025 and 2026 have brought the biggest shake-up the category has seen in years.

Michelin has replaced its class-leading CrossClimate 2 with the CrossClimate 3, and launched an all-season tyre built specifically for performance cars. Goodyear has replaced the Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 with the Vector All Season 4. Pirelli, meanwhile, has been winning group tests outright.

For those not familiar with the category, all season tyres are something of a hybrid. They are designed to deliver a good performance across various weather conditions – through spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Traditionally, you might have a set of summer tyres for the warmer months and winter tyres for the colder ones. All season tyres remove the need for that seasonal swap, which is why so many UK motorists have made the switch.

Below we look at the best all season tyres you can buy in 2026 – combining independent test results with what our own customers actually order and rate.

Michelin CrossClimate 3

The Michelin CrossClimate 3 arrived in the UK in July 2025 and is now Michelin’s flagship all season tyre, replacing the multi-award-winning CrossClimate 2.

Michelin claims a 4% improvement in wet grip and up to 15% more mileage compared with the CrossClimate 2. That comes from a new Thermal Adaptive Tread Compound that adjusts to changing road temperatures, a refined V-shaped tread pattern that keeps channelling water away as the tyre wears, and MaxTouch Construction for more even wear.

It carries the 3PMSF snowflake symbol, so it is officially approved for use in snow, and it is suitable for petrol, hybrid and electric vehicles.

Piano Acoustic Tuning Technology is used to keep road noise down.

Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport

The Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport is the most interesting new product in the category. It is the first all season tyre engineered specifically for high-performance cars and sporting saloons, and it still carries 3PMSF winter certification.

It uses Thermal Adaptive Tread Compound 2.0 alongside Michelin’s Dynamic Response Technology, which is designed to keep steering response sharp. Most sizes carry the top "A" rating for wet grip on the EU tyre label.

Independent testing backs it up. In AutoView’s 2026 all season test in 255/45 R19 – a size used on cars including the BMW 5 Series and Tesla Model Y – the CrossClimate 3 Sport was the overall winner. It recorded the shortest dry braking distance, the highest cornering speed, the best subjective handling and ride scores, and shared the lowest measured noise level.

If you drive something quick and have previously written off all season tyres as a compromise too far, this is the one to look at.

Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF 3

The Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF 3 has quietly become the tyre to beat in independent group tests.

It took the overall win in Auto Bild’s 2025 all season test in 225/40 R18 – a programme that started with 30 tyres and put the 15 shortest-stopping through the full test regime. It also sets the benchmark for aquaplaning resistance in more recent comparisons.

Most sizes carry an "A" rating for wet grip on the EU tyre label, which is still relatively rare in the all season category, and Pirelli’s own DEKRA-verified testing showed the SF 3 with the shortest cumulative braking distance across dry, wet and snow surfaces against a group of premium rivals.

A strong all-rounder, and a genuine alternative to the Michelin at a similar price point.

Continental All Season Contact 2

The Continental All Season Contact 2 remains one of the most consistent tyres in the category, and it is particularly strong on wet roads.

It won ADAC’s 2026 all season test in 185/65 R15, a 16-tyre group aimed at small cars, where it was rewarded for precise, secure handling at the limit. It also finished second in AutoView’s 2026 test on the strength of its wet braking and its consistency everywhere else.

The tyre uses a V-shaped tread pattern with C-shaped tread blocks to channel water away efficiently, and it is designed to be EV-compatible.

If most of your year-round driving is done on wet British roads rather than in snow, this is a very safe choice.

Goodyear Vector All Season 4

The Goodyear Vector All Season 4 is the replacement for the long-serving Vector 4Seasons Gen-3, and it has made an immediate impression.

In Auto Bild’s 2026 follow-up test of five premium all season tyres in 225/40 R18, the Vector All Season 4 took the top spot. It went straight to the front of the field on snow, winning the slalom, handling and traction tests, and only narrowly losing snow braking to the Michelin.

Independent testing across two sizes puts it first overall in both, built on class-leading wet and snow performance. Its weaker area is dry braking, where it sits a few percent off the best in the group.

For drivers in Scotland, the north of England or anywhere that sees regular cold snaps, that snow bias is exactly what you want. The outgoing Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 is still available in many sizes and remains a strong value choice while stock lasts.

Kumho Solus 4S HA32+

The Kumho Solus 4S HA32+ is the updated version of the Solus 4S HA32, one of the most popular mid-range all season tyres with our customers over the past few years.

It was developed to deliver strong wet grip across changing conditions, and is optimised for traction on snow, ice and wet surfaces. It carries both M+S markings and the 3PMSF symbol.

In the most popular UK size, 205/55 R16, it typically comes in at around £30 per tyre less than the premium options above – which makes it one of the best value ways into the category. The original Solus 4S HA32 is still available too.

Rotalla RA03

For cash-conscious motorists, the Rotalla RA03 is a budget all season tyre that delivers a reasonable level of safety and stability across various driving surfaces.

It features a V-shaped tread design for water evacuation and reduced risk of aquaplaning, enhanced block stiffness for snow traction, and a compound aimed at increasing mileage.

It will not match the premium tyres in this list for wet braking or handling at the limit, but it is a sensible option if budget is the deciding factor.

Michelin CrossClimate 2 SUV

Michelin has not yet launched an SUV-specific version of the CrossClimate 3, so the Michelin CrossClimate 2 SUV remains the pick for SUV and 4x4 drivers who want a road-biased all season tyre.

Like the passenger car version it uses a directional tread pattern with 3-D SipeLock technology, and it is 3PMSF certified. Owners consistently praise its grip, handling and quiet ride.

The Michelin CrossClimate 2 has been superseded by the CrossClimate 3, but it is far from obsolete.

It is still made in sizes the CrossClimate 3 does not yet cover, and it is still winning plaudits: in ADAC’s 2026 test in 185/65 R15 it shared second place, recording one of the shortest dry braking distances in the whole field and scoring well for low wear and running costs.

If your size is available in both and the CrossClimate 2 is cheaper, it is still a very good tyre.

Choosing All Season Tyres in 2026

The tyres mentioned here are a small selection of what is available. These are among the best and most popular on the market, but there are plenty of others that perform to high standards.

Ultimately, the "best" all season tyre depends on your vehicle, your driving style and where you drive. A few things worth weighing up:

• How much winter do you actually see? If you regularly drive in snow, prioritise a snow-biased tyre such as the Goodyear. If your winter is mostly cold and wet, the Continental or Pirelli make more sense.
• Check the 3PMSF symbol. The three-peak mountain snowflake means the tyre has passed regulatory winter testing. All the tyres listed here carry it.
• Read the EU tyre label. Wet grip is graded A to E, and each grade is worth roughly three metres of braking distance – about a car length.
• Consider the whole cost. A longer-lasting, lower rolling resistance tyre can work out cheaper over its life, even at a higher purchase price.
