KPH stands for "Kilometres Per Hour." It is a unit of speed expressing the number of kilometres travelled in one hour. Kph is commonly used worldwide, except in countries that use the imperial system for road traffic, such as the United Kingdom and the United States, where miles per hour (MPH) is more commonly used.
To convert kilometres per hour (KPH) to metres per second (MPS), you multiply the speed in kph by 0.2778. For instance, if an engine has a power output of 62 kph, the equivalent in mps would be approximately 17.22 mps.
There is approximately 3.6 kph in 1 mps. This means that 1 mps is equivalent to 3.6 kilometres per hour.
The formula to convert KPH to MPS is:
MPS = KPH × 0.2778
For example, if you are travelling at 100 kph, the equivalent speed in metres per second would be:
MPS = 100 x 0.2778 = 27.78
