Ford EcoSport Tyre Pressure

Ford EcoSport Tyre Pressure

Maintaining the correct tyre pressure on your Ford EcoSport is essential for your vehicle's performance and fuel efficiency. It is also an important component in maintaing the maximum tyre longevity.

The recommended pressures for your Ford car will likely vary depending on the model year and wheel size.

Between 2013 and 2021 the Ford EcoSport was produced in multiple trims. The common wheel sizes included 16-inch, 17-inch and 18-inch options.

In 2018, revised tyre pressure specifications were introduced across most variants. This resulted in a slightly higher recommended pressures - when compared with earlier models.

Tyre pressures differ based on vehicle load. 'Normal load' refers to everyday driving with light occupants and minimal luggage, while 'maximum load' applies when the vehicle is fully occupied or carrying heavier cargo.

Regular Tyre Pressure Checks

Checking your tyre pressures regularly helps maintain safe and efficient driving conditions.

If you have under-inflated tyres, you find that braking distances are increased, as well as suffering from uneven tyre wear. On top of all that there will likely be a reduction in the fuel economy of your EcoSport.

Over-inflated on the other hand may negatively affect ride comfort and reduce the tyre’s contact patch with the road. This will mean that the performance of the tyre will not be optimal.

It’s recommended to check tyre pressures at least once a month and before long journeys. Always measure pressures when tyres are cold, as readings can increase after driving.

Tyre pressures can vary depending on wheel size, trim level, load, and driving conditions. Always refer to your vehicle’s official handbook or consult Ford directly for the most accurate specifications.
