In a groundbreaking move for motorsport and digital media alike, the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) announced it will broadcast all race weekends live on TikTok for the second season in a row
This world-first agreement, started in the 2024 season, sees a leap in how fans can experience the BTCC, bringing the thrills and drama of race day directly to TikTok’s massive global audience.
The live coverage will be available via TikTok Live on the official @BTCC account, offering an unprecedented level of accessibility and interactivity for a new generation of fans.
The deal, hailed as a digital milestone for the series, means that every race weekend of the 2025 BTCC season will be live-streamed on TikTok — from qualifying sessions to the main event — providing short-form highlights, behind-the-scenes content, and full race coverage all in one platform.
BTCC Chief Executive Alan Gow said, “We are thrilled to be the first motorsport series to bring our full race-day content live to TikTok. This is a huge step in growing the BTCC’s digital presence and engaging a younger, mobile-first audience around the world.”
“This is a truly ground-breaking move for the BTCC. I’m incredibly proud that we will be the first major motorsport championship in the world to have its entire race season streamed live on TikTok. It’s the real ‘cherry on the top’ of our ongoing and vast UK coverage, which is live and free on ITV4 and ITVX.”
“Most importantly, this agreement will introduce the BTCC to a massive new and completely different demographic – a younger and more diverse audience – which is exactly what we, and in fact all of motorsport, are looking to achieve. This is very big news for the BTCC, our teams and our partners as we cement the future of the UK’s most prestigious motorsport championship.”
Andrew Hill, Senior Producer at ITV Sport, said: “This is a hugely exciting and innovative development in ITV’s production of the British Touring Car Championship. Live streaming BTCC races on TikTok, alongside our regular ITV4 and ITVX coverage, will help us to reach a much wider audience and enable a new generation of fans to enjoy the thrills and spills of the number-one championship in British motor racing."
Fans will be able to tune in live by following the @BTCC account on TikTok. Streams will include:
This complements BTCC’s existing streaming strategy, which also includes global YouTube broadcasts (excluding the UK and North America) and domestic coverage on ITV4 and ITVX.
Breaking Barriers, Building New Audiences
The TikTok partnership doesn’t just mean more coverage — it means more interactive coverage. The short-form video platform’s unique format allows fans to comment, react, and participate in real time, turning each race day into a digital event as much as a motorsport spectacle
The deal also represents a major opportunity for BTCC’s partners, teams, and sponsors, tapping into TikTok’s younger demographic and expanding reach beyond traditional TV and streaming platforms.
With sustainable technology in the pipeline, a growing international fanbase, and now a truly cross-platform broadcast model, the BTCC is charging full speed into the future. The 2025 season kicks off at Donington Park on 26/27 April — and for the first time ever, you can watch it live, right from your phone
