Michelin have created the CrossClimate 2 to provide motorists with a safe drive no matter the weather.

With a directional tread pattern, the CrossClimate 2 quickly gets rid of water from the tyre providing exceptional grip in wet conditions. The tread pattern features 3-D sipeLock technology to enhance treadwear resistance and a distinctive V-formation pattern to spread out weight evenly throughout, extend the treadlife of the tyre as well as improving grip – in dry weathers all the way to the snowiest of days.

Michelin have designed this tyre with safety at the forefront with the Cross Climate 2 stopping up to 16 feet shorter than competitor tyres based on Michelin testing.

Originally we had the Michelin Primacy 4 tyres fitted on our 2021 XC40 R-Design but I wanted to try an all seasons tyre. Despite the quoted noise figure ratings the Cross Climates on our 18" wheels was instantly noticeably quieter than the Primacy 4s they replaced. Additionally, the ride seems more compliant (probably due to the slightly softer compound). I am definitely considering also fitting these to my V60 when the tyres require replacement if the general wear proves reasonable. I generally expect around 25,000 miles from a new set of tyres.

18 months in from first fitting and all 4 tyres are at 4mm from 6.5mm when new. Tyres are still excellent in the snow and I have not noticed any difference in driving I’ve this time. Would happily recommend but only when on a black circles offer as I paid £135 a corner and now they are above £170. So if on offer then yes but then as they are A rated for fuel and B rated for wet as I got the Volvo designed cross climate 2 which is better for fuel and XL rated.
