Continental have developed the WinterContact TS 860 as a winter tyre for passenger cars. It has been designed to deliver strong braking performance and handling in cold, wet, icy and snowy conditions.
It combines advanced compound and tread technologies - in order to to maintain flexibility and grip throughout winter driving.
WinterContact TS 860 tyres are available in a range of passenger car fitments.
The tyre uses a Maximum Traction Silica compound known as Cool Chili, designed to remain flexible at low temperatures. This flexibility allows the tyre to maintain effective contact with the road surface.
A network of sipes and channels works to reduce the thin layer of water that forms on icy and frost-covered roads. This Liquid Layer Drainage system helps improve contact between the tyre and the road surface.
Snow Curve+ technology increases the number of contact points with snow across the tyre surface. This allows the tread to compress and grip snow more effectively during cornering.
