Riken Tyres

Riken are owned by the French tyre manufacturer Michelin. Founded in 1912, Riken was their own company up until 1979 when they were acquired by Michelin. Michelin have since then manufactured Riken branded tyres and marketed them as an alternative to Michelin's premium product range.

Riken tyres are manufactured by Michelin. Michelin factories are located globally, however, Riken tyres are manufactured in Michelin's main facilities across Europe. Michelin started production of Riken tyres when the company acquired them in 1979.

The difference in spelling between tyres/tires depends on what use of the English language a nation uses. If Riken are selling their products in the United States, the product will be described as 'Riken tires'. In the United Kingdom, Riken and the public will identify their company's products as 'tyres'.

On average, Riken tyres can last between 40,000 to 60,000 miles, depending on driving conditions, maintenance, and tyre models. Regular inspections, proper inflation, and routine rotations are necessary to maximise their lifespan

The markings imprinted on the tyre provide important information. These markings include details like width, aspect ratio, load and speed ratings, construction type, and wheel diameter. Additionally, the tyre will indicate the brand name, range, and specific information about tyre pressure, wear indicators, and suitability for winter conditions.

Riken are owned by Michelin, making them a subsidary of the French tyre manufacturer. They keep their own distint branding and model range.
