Michelin developed the XVS as the next step forward from the XAS, refining its tread design to handle the demands of fast, winding roads. Its asymmetric construction was designed specifically around the different jobs the inside and outside of the tyre have to do.
Upgraded Asymmetric Tread Sculpture
The XVS carries a tread pattern developed from the XAS, shaped differently on the left and right shoulders to suit the distinct roles each side plays in cornering. This design is intended to help the tyre cope with the high-speed demands of slippery, winding roads.
Michelin Classic Collection
The XVS remains available today as part of Michelin's classic tyre range. This means owners of period-correct 1970s performance cars can still source a tyre matched to their vehicle's original specification.
