Product description & features

Enjoy a premium driving experience with tyres that you can rely on - mile after mile.

The Michelin Primacy 5 tyre has been developed to deliver a safe and reliable performance. With the use of Michelin's next-generation EverGrip Technology and MaxTouch technology, the Primacy 5 delivers excellent wet braking and excellent longevity.

The Primacy 5 tyres are available in 16 inch, 17 inch18 inch, and 19 inch rim tyre sizes.

Excellent Longevity

In external tests that were run by the Dekra Test Centre on a Tesla Model 3 with the tyre size 235/45 R18, the Primacy 5 delivered 18% more mileage compared to its predecessor, the Primacy 4+.

Michelin has used their MaxTouch technology in the new Primacy 5 tyre to increase the contact between the tyre and the road. This helps to evenly spread the forces encountered when driving, such as acceleration, braking, and cornering.

A new patented tread compound works to maximise the tyre's longevity.

Suitable for EVs

The Michelin Primacy 5 features a rubber compound specially developed to reduce rolling resistance.

This works to help extend the battery range of an EV, as less energy is required when moving.

The tyre's new tread pattern reduces noise levels, an important comfort factor for EV owners.

Safety on Wet Roads

The Michelin Primacy 5 delivers 4% shorter wet braking distances when worn compared to its predecessor.

The tyre's tread pattern has been designed to remove water from the path of the tyre quickly. This provides excellent wet braking performance and reduces the risk of aquaplaning.

The Michelin Primacy 5 - 205/55 R17 W is a summer tyre.

Performing very well. Car feels much more stable and comfortable. A bit noisy though. Not noisier than the pilot sport 5 which I had before though.

Improved ride and grip, though the previous Primacy 4s were down to 3mm, so a difference was expected.

Tyres feels competent wet or dry, they don't seem to inspire as hard a driving as the original fit primacy 3's did but we'll see how this progresses as the tyres wear or hopefully don't wear. I really enjoyed the 3's but the Kia eniro fronts were pretty well worn out in 10k miles! So quite happy with the feel of these 5's if they last longer. Tried some Hankook kinergy all season, these gripped well in all conditions but often felt overloaded, like you were tearing the tyres through a corner, still lasted the same 10~15 k as the primacy 3's though.

Grip is good, but efficiency seems to be considerable lower than Primacy 4's I had previously.

Ordered from BlackCircle to have two new 2 x Michelin Primacy 5 235/50 R19 W (103), Reinforced, Asymmetrical to my Hyundai Tucson Ultimate Hybrid Auto at Formula One Autocentres – Blackheath, West Mids. on 3rd April 25. Michelin Primacy 4 235/50 R19 W (103) on the car from new. After contacting their customer service by phone in Edinburgh I asked about the difference between Michelin Primacy 4 and Michelin Primacy 5. They explained it was a brand new tyre which came out January 2025 which was aimed at Hybrids, EV Vehicles and they had limited data which was say all good. I Can only say the following is in my opinion fitted to Tucson Hybrid. I decided to take the plunge and go for Michelin Primacy 5 after the chat, and in honesty have not regretted it. Having had them fitted 4 weeks ago and going on holiday with them it gave me full confidence in them. Motorway driving in heavy rain gave me a sure footing feel, driving on narrow B roads also gave a strong grip on cornering and braking. Comparing Michelin Primacy 4 to 5 definitely more grippy and noticeably quieter on road noise. I am very pleased with these tyres and will use Michelin Primacy5 when replacing my other tyres
