Michelin have developed the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 Zero Pressure Acoustic as a run-flat summer tyre for sport-oriented vehicles and high-powered saloons.
The tyre is focused on maintaining mobility and reducing interior cabin noise.
It combines Michelin's Zero Pressure run-flat construction with an internal acoustic foam layer and a Green Power compound to address wet traction, energy efficiency and tyre longevity.
Available in 20 inch rim tyre sizes.
The tyre uses Michelin's Zero Pressure run-flat construction to support the vehicle after a loss of pressure. This design lets the driver continue for a short distance following a puncture or pressure drop. The immediate benefit is maintained mobility to reach a repair location without an immediate tyre change.
A polyurethane acoustic foam is applied to the tyre's inner surface to absorb vibration and tyre-generated noise. By damping cabin-transmitted noise, the foam reduces interior noise levels. This contributes to a quieter, more comfortable driving environment.
A Green Power compound provides improved wet grip while supporting energy-efficient rolling characteristics and extended tyre life. The tyre's profile and tread pattern are designed to disperse water and reduce the risk of aquaplaning.
