Product description & features

Goodyear have constructed the EfficientGrip Performance 2 with ‘Wet Braking’ technology. Incorporating lower compound stiffness and an increased number of gripping edges to ensure quick water evacuation from the tyre, thus decreasing the braking distance in wet weather conditions.

The EfficientGrip Performance 2 has also been developed with high tread elasticity and increased flexibility to decrease the possibility of damage to the tyre on rough road conditions or over a wide range of temperatures. Due to this, the EfficientGrip Performance 2 has increased mileage performance.

The Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 has been designed to feature three large ribs in the middle of the tread pattern. As a result, the overall stiffness of the tyre will improve and enhance the overall cornering stability in dry conditions.

The EfficientGrip Performance 2 has been proven to last 20% longer the next best competitor when impartially tested by TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH in November 2019. This test shows that the Efficientgrip Performance 2 delivers the equivalent of an extra 11,000 km higher mileage.

EfficientGrip Performance 2 tyres are available in 15 inch, 16 inch, 17 inch, 18 inch, 19 inch and 20 inch rim tyre sizes.

Wet Braking Technology

Reduced compound stiffness allows for easier bending of the block and more effective removal of water. This, along with a greater number of longer gripping edges enhances the block's ability to evacuate water quickly. All resulting in a excellent wet braking performance.

Tyres are bit noisy compared to the Bridgestone of same wet grip ,fuel and noise rating I had previously. Noise is bit too much when driven in motorway. Since driven for more than one year I feel I should have gone with Bridgestone. Had to replace one tyre already as it got unrepairable puncture .while I had driver side puncture my TPMS was showing low air pressure on front passenger side as my installer which I choose from blackcircle placed wrong tyres in wrong position without letting me know . Much better than the standard fit michelin tyres in all respects. Grip, wear, quietness all much improved. The standard fits failed mot after 12k miles! Car now on 20k and look fine still. Will fit same Goodyear's to rear axle as standard fit michelins are mot warning now (tread falling apart like the fronts did).

The tyres have much less road noise than the OEM fitted tyres (those supplied from VW factory), in the wet they are very reassuring and compliment the car well, when making “good progress” in the dry the car handles much better with less under steer and more stability under heavy breaking.
