Uniroyal have a new wet-weather summer tyre on the way. The RainExpert 6 now has its full size range and EU tyre labels on Uniroyal’s UK site, plus a listing on Blackcircles.com (it isn’t in stock yet). The headline promise is simple: confidence when the rain really sets in. There’s no price, UK in-stock date or independent test data yet, so for now we’re sticking to what’s been confirmed. We’ll update this page as soon as there’s more.
What is the Uniroyal RainExpert 6?
It’s a summer tyre for passenger cars, and Uniroyal’s tagline gives you the idea: ‘We’ve got you covered. No matter how hard it rains.’ The brief is wet braking first, with dry handling and longer life alongside.
Built for the wet
This is where Uniroyal have put most of their effort. A newly developed tread compound is paired with Shark Skin Technology 3.0, and together they’re aimed at shorter stopping distances on rain-soaked roads. The tread also has wave-shaped drainage grooves, designed to clear water fast so the tyre keeps its composure in heavy rain.
The EU tyre label backs that up on paper: all 29 sizes are rated A for wet grip, the top grade. That’s the manufacturer’s label rating, not an independent test, so how it stacks up against the RainExpert 5 or its rivals is still an open question.
Dry road manners
Uniroyal haven’t forgotten about dry days. Reinforced shoulder blocks are there to help with braking and sharper responses, and a bigger footprint puts more rubber on the road for grip and stability. The tyre’s construction has also been optimised for stable, precise handling.
Built to go the distance, quietly
Uniroyal say the new compound delivers extended mileage, and the tread pattern is laid out for even wear. The tread structure also spreads pressure across the contact patch to take the edge off road noise.
The EU label measures noise outside the car, not in the cabin. Here, that’s 71 or 72 dB depending on size, and class B across the range. Nothing has been published on tread life, so we won’t put a mileage figure on it.
Ready for electric cars
The RainExpert 6 carries Uniroyal’s EV-compatible symbol, so it suits electric cars as well as petrol, diesel and hybrid ones.
Sizes and EU tyre label ratings
Uniroyal’s UK site lists 29 sizes across 16, 17, 18 and 19-inch rims. Wet grip is A on every one. Fuel efficiency is B on 22 sizes and C on seven, and external noise is 71 dB on 10 sizes and 72 dB on 19, all class B.
