Product description & features

The Michelin Energy Saver + was designed to boost the fuel efficiency of the Energy Saver range, plus in internal tests was found to save up to 60 litres of fuel compared to its predecessor.

Michelin managed this with their unique patented Eco ‘N’ Grip technology – which consists of a special tread compound that reduces the amount of heat that builds up when a tyre is in motion.

The Energy Saver + has a 10% larger footprint than the previous tyre in the range, creating more contact with the surface of the road plus providing you with a powerful grip.

Michelin have also constructed this tyre with a special under-tread layer, containing polymers with a extremely low resistance to the effects of rolling. This means that the Energy Saver + is less affected by the force placed on the car by the surface of the road.

The Michelin Energy Saver + - 185/60 R14 H is a summer tyre.

This is the third generation of Eco Saver I have had ( this model is the same as I had before ). While this tyre has lower rolling resistance and noise levels than previous models I feel the ride quality is slightly harsher . After running my tyres in I went on holiday and drove over some very poor and very wet Welsh mountain roads no problems at all the car just went where it was pointed no drama no fuss .

Replaced a previous set of these tyres which lasted 30 000 miles. For 50 quid a corner and good fuel efficiency and wet grip you really can't fault them for a small car doing mostly motorway miles.

The car does feel better to drive as my old tyres were pretty much on the legal limit so naturally with more tread you are going to get more grip on the road - very important now the colder weather is rearing it's ugly head. I would buy these tyres again although the price is quite expensive I understand that they are a premium brand and so the price reflects this.

The new tyres seem to be performing just as good as the similar make of Michelin tyres that were on my earlier Golf. They run quietly, have a good grip and provide good fuel consumption. The last itme I looked at the computer on the car it was showing an average of just under 60 mpg. overall.
