Independent tests conducted by TÜV SÜD in 2022 have shown that the Turanza 6 outperformed other tyres in the test for wet grip, cornering, and straight-line testing. In fact, the new Turanza 6 has been awarded the highest A-grade for wet grip across the whole line-up.

But safety isn't the only focus of the Turanza 6. Bridgestone has also made efforts to improve the tyre's fuel and energy efficiency.

The new tyre boasts a 4% reduction in rolling resistance versus its predecessor, the Turanza T005, making it more efficient and eco-friendly.

Plus, it offers a best-in-class EU label A-grade in rolling resistance in selected sizes. This is supported by an aerodynamic rimguard that's designed to reduce air resistance while driving, further increasing the tyre's efficiency.

Engineered to be EV-ready

The Turanza 6 is also engineered to be EV-ready, making it perfectly suited for hybrid and electric vehicles.

The tyre features Bridgestone's latest technologies, including ENLITEN Technology, which optimizes the performance of EVs by offering low rolling resistance to save battery life, excellent control to address EV-specific driving-related issues, and higher wear tolerance to combat tyre wear due to increased weight and torque.

Plus, the Turanza 6 delivers a reduction of 2db in pass-by noise versus its predecessor, making it quieter and more comfortable for EV drivers.

But what sets the Turanza 6 apart from its predecessors and competitors is its sustainability. As a sustainable solutions company, Bridgestone is constantly evolving its R&D process to become more efficient and eco-friendly.

For example, the new Turanza 6 was developed using Bridgestone's ground-breaking Virtual Tyre Development technology.

This enables a digital version of an in-development tyre to be created and tested, helping Bridgestone to predict how a tyre will perform in different conditions before physically building prototypes.

This sustainable approach leads to a saving of 21% of raw materials and CO2 emissions in the development phase, while cutting 60,000 kilometres and 7.7 tonnes of CO2 from outdoor testing.

The Bridgestone Turanza 6 is available in a wide range of sizes from 16" to 22" in the replacement summer line-up, with a total of 136 sizes available for both passenger cars and on-road SUVs. The tyre has an increased coverage of 34 new sizes, with a focus on the high-rim diameter segment.
