Continental Win Evo Magazine Tyre Test
For the second time this year, Continental Tyres has come out top in an evo magazine tyre test.
The German Tyre manufacturer topped the test carried on using the front wheel drive Renaultsport Megane 250 Cup. The tyres which achieved the accolade from the high end sports car magazine were the new ContiSportContact 5 P and the size of the tyre was 235/35R19.
When discussing the tests, the magazine wrote that “a very solid performance sees the Continental take the win... it set the standard in many of the tests, taking an almost clean sweep in the dry tests and rating very highly in the wet tests, too. It also garnered praise for its feel and abilities in the subjective tests.”
In total, the magazine tested nine of the most popular brands on the market at the moment. As part of the rigorous tests, evo put the tyres through a number of measured disciplines. From wet braking to dry braking and straight to curved aquaplaning, all tyres were tested to their very limit. On top of the track tests, they also used the tyres out on the road to get a subjective idea of how the tyres also handle in basic, normal driving conditions.
Tracey Hyem, brand manager at Continental Tyres, said; “The ContiSportContact 5 P was new to the market this year so it is great to see it perform so well against our competitors. The tyre has also proved popular with car manufacturers being fitted as original equipment on many flagship models including AMG Mercedes SLS, Audi TT RS and the Renault Mégane III Sport RS.”
