Best Electric Vehicles with the Longest Range 2024

1. MG 4

2. Audi Q8 e-tron

3. Tesla Model S

4. BMW i7

5. Mercedes-Benz EQE

Electric vehicles have taken the automotive world by storm over the past few years, offering motorists an alternative to traditional diesel/petrol cars.

Since car brands have invested heavily in the EV market, technology and capabilities of the vehicles have vastly grown.

One key feature that is crucial for electric car performance is the range of the vehicle. Electric range of an EV refers to how many miles the vehicle can travel on a single charge.

Much like miles per gallon being crucial to a non-electric car model’s performance, a high electric range typically equites to the most dependable EVs on the market.

This article will shine a light on some of the best electric vehicles that have great range and are attainable to the general EV buyer in 2024.

1. MG 4 – up to 324 miles

MG has been a cornerstone for British motoring for the good part of 100 years, specialising in sports cars, coupes, SUVs, and more.

The classic car brand had always been British-owned – that’s until 2007 when they were taken over by SAIC Motor, a leading Chinese car manufacturing company that in recent years, has really innovated in electric vehicle development.

Arguably MG’s most successful model in recent times is their MG4, an all-electric hatchback that has seen vastly positive appraisal from car experts and motorists alike since its release in 2022.

Aside from the fact it is stupidly cheap for an EV considering its top performance levels, a big factor for the model’s high praise is the electric range options it has.

The MG4 has an electric range of up to 323 miles if you opt for the Trophy Extended Range trim of the model.

Considering other trims of the model having strong combined range options, the MG4 is a fantastic choice for motorists looking to go that extra mile.

2. Audi Q8 e-tron – up to 330 miles

Audi are one of the world's leading car manufacturers, operating within the automotive industry since 1909.

One car type that Audi are renowned for is their SUVs, with models like the Q2, Q3, and the Q8 standing out amongst industry leading 4x4s.

A recently launched SUV that Audi have received plaudits for is the Q8 e-tron, an electric variant of the standard Q8.

The Q8 e-tron has an impressive power output of up to 408 PS and a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 5.6 seconds, but these aren’t the only impressive features the car has.

Electric range for the Audi Q8 e-tron is anything up to 330 miles depending on the trim of the vehicle. This makes the Q8 one of the strongest performers in electric mileage.

Given the performance and electric range capabilities, the Q8 e-tron is a great all-electric option for SUV enthusiasts.

3. Tesla Model S – up to 373 miles

Tesla are one of the early adopters of electric vehicle production, being a true innovator within the EV market.

The American EV brand are not just known for putting electric vehicle distribution on the map – the sleek designs and performance characteristics of their cars make their car models some of the most sought-after EVs on the market.

A real standout amongst Tesla’s range of cars is their Model S, an all-electric hatchback released by Tesla back in 2012.

It can be argued that the Tesla Model S alone cause a spike in not just Tesla’s popularity, but also the electric vehicle industry as a whole.

The proof of this can be seen at the 2013 MotorTrend awards, where the Model S gathered the ‘Car of the Year Award’, just one year after its release.

Fast-forward over 10 years later, the Model S (Plaid) now has an electric range of up to 373 miles.

For its design, performance, and electric range, the Model S has become a flagship model for Tesla and very popular amongst EV buyers.

4. BMW i7 – up to 387 miles

Another German car brand making this list, that being Audi’s fellow German industry leader, BMW.

What makes BMW such a motoring icon? Well, it’s their extremely reliable premium/luxury cars that has garnered attention from car buyers around the world.

BMW has offered motorists fantastic car model options like the 3 Series, X5, and the M3 for decades now, really establishing themselves as an industry giant.

Their electric vehicle production hasn’t gone unnoticed either, as the German car manufacturer has really taken off with their EV models; the iX and i4 to name a couple.

One standout electric model from BMW’s electric line-up is the i7, a luxury electric saloon that BMW introduced in 2022.

The i7 is a part of the 7 Series, acting as the staple electric model of the 7 Series range.

In terms of electric range, the i7 holds up to 387 miles in range, making the saloon one of the best EVs for range on the market.

5. Mercedes-Benz EQE – up to 388 miles

Now for the third German car, and final EV to make this list, that being the Mercedes-Benz EQE.

Mercedes-Benz are renowned for their extensive line of premium and luxury car models, with models such as the A-Class and C-Class being great successes for the German car brand.

Their first ever car dates back to 1885, making Mercedes one of the oldest car brands in the world today.

Modern times has seen Mercedes-Benz shift to electric vehicle production, with their first ever all-electric car being introduced in 2019 – the EQC.

Even if the EQC is a fantastic option for EV buyers, the Mercedes-Benz EQE is the EV we would recommend for electric range.

The EQE offers an electric range of up to 388 miles. Whilst larger models such as the EQC offer more electric miles, the performance and sleek design that the EQE has is unquestionable, making the model hard to ignore.

Mercedes have outdone themselves with the EQE, making you wonder what’s next in the German car brand’s electric vehicle development.
