CrossClimate 2 Overview

The Michelin CrossClimate 2 is a premium all-season tyre model manufactured by Michelin since 2020.

Being an all-season tyre, the CC2 offers solid levels of performance across all weather conditions, from rain, to snow, and even dry conditions.

Capabilities of this tyre is highlighted through the tyre featuring a Three Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) tyre marking. The EU sanctioned label indicates that the tyre model in question has passed standardised, supervised, and rigorous tests regarding winter suitability of a tyre.

A Cool Running Sidewall is featured on the CrossClimate 2, contributing to the reduction of fuel consumption/battery range for electric vehicles. Rolling resistance is reduced by 10% compared to the CrossClimate 2’s predecessor through the running sidewall.

The all-season tyre model also arrives with a thermal adaptive tread compound, making the tyre adaptable to different driving conditions. This further emphasises the capabilities of the model’s performance in all types of weather conditions.

The CrossClimate 2 has been chosen as an Original Equipment (OE) tyre for brands such as Citroen and Skoda.

Upon its release, the CrossClimate 2 replaced CrossClimate+.

CrossClimate 2 SUV Overview

The Michelin CrossClimate 2 SUV is also a premium all-season tyre that was released by Michelin 2022.

This all-season tyre model is developed to be equipped on Sports Utility Vehicles, with Michelin taking huge pride in mastering the SUV tyre category with the CrossClimate 2 SUV.

Much like it’s fellow CrossClimate 2 model, the tyre features the EU sanction 3PMSF tyre marking, shining a light on its performance in wet, snowy, and icy weather conditions.

Michelin’s EverGrip Technology is developed on the CC2 SUV model, maintaining grip on the tyre even when the tyres are starting to wear.

The overall performance of the CrossClimate 2 SUV is prominent through comparing the model to its competitors – the tyre delivers almost 20% increased snow traction compared to the average of the tyre’s main competitors.

4x4s such as the Peugeot 3008 SUV and the Ford Kuga has chosen the CrossClimate 2 SUV as an OE tyre model.

Upon its release in 2022, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 SUV replaced the original CrossClimate SUV model.

Fuel efficiency ratings for the CrossClimate 2 SUV ranges from A to C, with the most common rating being B.

Similarly, the CrossClimate 2 received high praise from WhatTyre at the 2023 Tyre of the Year awards. The CrossClimate 2 was recognized for its outstanding qualities, as the tyre earned the prestigious 'All-Season Tyre of the Year' award for the second consecutive year.

CrossClimate 2 SUV Awards

Much like the CrossClimate 2, the CrossClimate 2 SUV has been revered by experts within the tyre industry since its release in 2022.

At the inaugural DriverReviews Customer Choice Awards in 2022, the all-season tyre was awarded with ‘Best All-Season SUV Tyres’.

The WhatTyre awards in 2023 saw great success for the CC2 as mentioned previously, however, the CrossClimate 2 SUV seen even more accomplishment than the base CrossClimate 2 model. The most prestigious award, ‘Tyre of the Year’, was   handed to the SUV tyre model, due to the tyre’s “consistently good performance in the wet as in dry and on snow”, adding that the tyre is “best when braking on snow”.

Given the tyre has only been available to the public for two years, the CrossClimate 2 has seen fantastic accomplishments in the tyre industry, with potentially more to come in the near future.
