Citroen Tyres Test

Citroen the major French manufacturer has recently revamped their range, modernising the look of nearly all their models. Citroen produce good quality cars which are available in a wide variety of styles that should suit most pockets.

Black Circles stock complete ranges in Ford tyres to suit your vehicle and your driving style. Contact our customer service team for impartial advice on 0845 200 0022.

Citroen Saxo 1.1 SX - 165/70 13 T Michelin E3A

The Citroen Saxo is much loved by the younger driver, it is priced well and has numerous options available with which to customize your vehicle. Now replaced by the Citroen C2 it is still an extremely common site on the UK’s roads. There is also a hot hatch version available (the VTR) that rivals the Golf GTi for performance. As the car is mainly designed as a town car then comfort will be a major requirement from the tyres. Alternatives to the Michelin tyre would be the Pirelli P3000 or the Continental Eco contact. A good budget option would be either the Falken or the Kleber tyre for comfort and longer life

Citroen Xsara - 195/60 15 V Goodyear GT2

Citroen’s mid range family car offers a high standard of styling and added options without forcing the price too high. The drive and build quality (whilst not the best in class) are still at high enough levels to cope with the rigors of family life. As this is a family vehicle the tyres should provide a quiet and comfortable drive but still provide good levels of grip in both the wet and dry to ensure the occupants safety. Options for the tyres would be the Bridgestone ER30 or the Michelin E3A. Also the Pirelli P6000 would prove an excellent choice. A budget option for this car would be the Kleber Dynaxer.

Citroen C5 - 215/55 16 V  Michelin Pilot Primacy

The C5 is Citroen’s attack on the corporate car market. The Citroen C5 is a big motorway cruiser with excellent levels of equipment to keep even the most demanding driver satisfied. Like most French cars it has a soft suspension setting that glides down the motorway but can make country roads a little unsettling. Prices are cheap but residuals are very weak. The size of the car means that space for the occupants is excellent. Tyre options should complement the set up of the car. Providing a smooth quiet ride. The Continental Eco Contact would work well with this vehicle as would the Dunlop Sport 01 tyre. Also another good option would be the Pirelli P6000 Powergy.

Special Offers

Blackcircles constantly offer excellent deals across a range of different tyre sizes, so please check our latest tyre deals on our Special Offers page. Do you know that on some vehicles it is possible to fit a different brand of tyre from what is currently on the car, you may find a different brand suits your budget and driving style better – so it’s always worth investigating. However some vehicle manufacturers do recommend that you keep the same brand of tyres that originally came on the vehicle as they have worked with the tyre manufacturers to develop vehicle specific fitments to improve the vehicle’s performance.

If you are at all unsure whether you can change brand, please call our customer service team on 0845 200 0022 who will be able to let you know whether there are any alternative brands for your vehicle.
