Kumho proud partners of GB Taekwondo

Kumho helps Head Hunter and Warrior win Olympic Taekwando

Great Britain is one of the world’s top taekwondo nations and, thanks in part to support from Kumho, the British team collected gold and bronze medals at London 2012, coming 5th in the table, only two places behind Korea, the inventors of the sport!

Welsh teenager Jade Jones (‘Head Hunter’) was the gold medallist – the first-ever British Olympic taekwondo champion – and bronze was carried off by Lutalo Muhammad – the ‘Walthamstow Warrior’.

Taekwondo is a great fit for Korean brand Kumho and with the brand’s support, GB Taekwondo is training 17 athletes with a view to beating even 2012’s medal count at Rio 2016.

Kumho come first

Kumho is now the sole tyre supplier to the international Auto GP series for 550bhp single-seat racing cars – a vital training ground for F1 drivers.

This season produced a British winner – 21-year old Adrian Quaife-Hobbs, who said: “Kumho did a great job with the compounds. Managing tyres is a key factor in the final result, so I now feel well prepared for the next steps in my career.”

Kumho continues to be the official tyre supplier to the annual blue riband ‘Masters of F3’ race at Zandvoort in Holland (won by Lewis Hamilton in 2005). All cars run on Kumho's ECSTA slicks and wets.

Kumho also became official tyre supplier to the French F4 championship, and to the all-conquering Peugeot RCZ saloon car racing team.

The Norwegian Rally championship and the MSA Tarmac Rally Championship GpN class were won on Kumho tyres and Kumho became exclusive suppliers to the French Rallycross series.
