Role Summary

Role: Ecommerce Performance Optimisation / Growth Specialist
Location: Edinburgh

Role Profile is currently seeking to appoint an ecommerce optimisation / Growth Specialist (newly created position) as part of the business’s next phase of growth. Working closely with the Head of Growth, this right candidate will play a key role in the analysis, design, execution, and optimisation of a portfolio of eCommerce performance improvements, conversion optimisation (CRO) initiatives and merchandising continuous enhancement programmes resulting in a direct commercial impact to the business.

The right candidate for this role will be a truly analytical thinker with experience in working within a fast-paced ecommerce environment. The right person for the Growth Specialist role will understand the best ways to analyse data, optimise decision making and prioritise their workload to ensure customers are given the right information, media, and solutions to inform their decisions.

Championing a customer-first approach across the business, the Growth Specialist will be responsible for taking a data driven approach across a portfolio of ecommerce performance improvement initiatives, projects and merchandising enhancements and ensure they are executed efficiently and effectively to achieve business objectives – all focused on creating a market leading customer experience.

This individual will have the drive, creativity and persistence required to not only meet, but to exceed agreed targets, and will constantly look for new and innovative ways to ensure is at the forefront of personalisation and media optimisation in the UK.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

• Work across a variety of different eCommerce initiatives with a focus on revenue generation, customer acquisition and share of wallet optimisation
• Carry out onsite ecommerce experiments
• Analyse and optimise on site media placements to achieve business objectives
• Utilise and advance proprietary personalisation tools to drive conversion
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to highlight areas of opportunity for personalised customer journeys
• Carry out digital merchandising operations to ensure customers find the right products for their needs
• Test, analyse and optimise eCommerce tools to ensure the best information is presented to customers
• Execute digital merchandising activity in line with target customers as well as brand guidelines and personalised tone of voice
• Working closely with the Head of Growth on a series of eCommerce initiatives to elevate revenue and customer acquisition / retention and share of wallet
• Work closely with design and IT teams to Build, flight, QA, and optimize on site merchandising campaigns
• Work with different teams to continually optimise product mix across web properties
• Work closely with the Trading, Logistics and Buying teams to commercially merchandise products, including upsells and cross sells
• Work alongside other departments on the implementation of promotional codes, testing and messaging
• Generate insight and collateral to ensure partners buy into merchandising services and to build and deepen partner funding
• Maintain a customer centric approach to analysis
• Show flexibility and willingness to handle miscellaneous growth tasks and stakeholder requests

Key Personal Criteria:

• Have a good understanding of Analytics with experience in PowerBI, Google Analytics and Google Data Studio preferable
• Previous experience in data analysis and optimisation roles preferable
• Fluent in Microsoft Suite – specifically Excel
• Ideally educated to degree level in Marketing but not a pre-requisite
• A high level of attention to quality, detail and accuracy is required
• Confident to work from own initiative
• Proactive attitude
• Track record of day-to-day delivery capability in a fast paced and autonomous environment.
B2C experience would therefore be advantageous but is not a prerequisite. • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment and prioritise workflows when ad hoc tasks are introduced
