Dunlop SP2000

The Dunlop SP2000 tyre is one of the only tyres in its class to last the test of time. Previously the Dunlop SP2000 tyre was a big favourite amongst car manufacturers but in recent years you will be less likely to see them on a new car at the dealership. The Dunlop SP2000 tyre has been developed with comfort in mind as well as a quieter drive quality due to a slightly softer compound than its competitors. Built primarily for durability and reliability we can’t fault this tyre as it delivers exactly as promised. Alternative options include the Goodyear Eagle GSD3 or if you are feeling particularly flush the Michelin Pilot Sport.

Dunlop SP9000

This is Dunlop tyres coming of age! For a while we wondered whether they would have the ingenuity to catch up with the rest of the new high performance tyre products on the market. Well they have. This tyre is everything it needed to be to bring Dunlop tyres back to the ever expanding performance tyre market. Hugely different to look at, with a tyre tread pattern in a similar style to the Goodyear GSD3 but more elegant in design. This tyre also uses a totally new silica compound. Creative and daring construction and a completely new tyre tread design tell us this is a new generation of Dunlop tyre. The Dunlop SP9000 tyre has good wet and dry handling, much better general handling and shorter braking distances. As a cost effective alternative to this tyre we like the Falken ZE512.

However some vehicle manufacturers do recommend that you keep the same brand of tyres that originally came on the vehicle as they have worked with the tyre manufacturers to develop vehicle specific fitments to improve the vehicle’s performance.
