Don’t Gamble With Your Breakdown Cover

It has been estimated by the folks over at the AA that over £100 million has been lost by motorists who thought that a good way to save some money in these financially unstable times was to cancel – or in some cases simply not renew – their breakdown cover.

These staggering figures show quite clearly that people have been caught out in a false economy. From the reports published by the AA, it was also estimated that around 2 million people throughout the year found themselves stranded – completely lacking any form of breakdown cover. This in turn led to the desperate motorists spending around four times the cost of basic cover because they were forced into calling out an emergency one-off assistance from a garage – which doesn’t come cheap!

With the financial climate still being rocky, it is understandable that people are trying to find ways to better economize and save money. However, these recent figures have shown quite clearly that those trying to save cash by deciding not to take out breakdown cover can end up spending much more than they in fact save.
