The Stig Goes Down Under
Some say that he loves the smell of kangaroo meat slowly being barbequed and that he has a pet koala bear named Francis Hummingbub... all we know is he’s called the Stig.
Petrol heads and fans of the Top Gear television in the land down under are preparing for an adrenaline fuelled experience next month as Top Gear Live is set to wow and inspire onlookers with a special Festival in February. The jewel in the shows crown will be a “first-ever stunt” performed by non-other than the mysterious and legendary Top Gear racing driver, Stig.
In conjunction with the show Bridgestone are doing their very own hands-on stunt which will give some “lucky Top Gear Live fans a rare opportunity to jump in the driver's seat for some one-on-one stunt training, including ramp-to-ramp jumps and 360-degree spins” according to a Bridgestone statement. To be one of the lucky few, the wannabe stunt drivers will have to visit a Bridgestone booth at the event and fill out a form. Before each show takes place a draw will take place to choose the lucky driver.
When the Top Gear Live team arrives they will be fully equipped with 100 cars and 150 sets of tyres ready for eight shows in half as many days.
Early reports are indicating that the “first-ever stunt” to be performed by the Stig will involve an indoor loop-the-loop track and a specially modified dune buggy.
