Sign our Petition - Uphold the Block Exemption Regulations
Back in October 2003, EU legislation ‘Block Exemption Regulations 1400/2002’ (BER) was set up. Since that date you have had the freedom to choose exactly who to take your vehicle to when it is need of a service, as any garage - thanks to the legislation - can, without invalidating the manufacturer’s warranty, service any vehicle.
The BER not only brought prices down significantly for the consumer, but gave work back to the independent garages and stopped manufacturers acting like cartels.
The Block Exemption Regulations are now under threat.
Recently car manufacturers have been lobbying for the legislation to be reversed, essentially taking away the freedom that car owners currently enjoy when deciding who it is that services their vehicle.
We at Blackcircles.com are dedicated to reducing the cost of motoring for UK drivers and it is thanks to the Block Exemption Regulations that we are able to offer up to 60% savings on servicing.
As such we are petitioning the UK government to try and ensure that the BER is upheld. We want to make sure that consumer freedom and the livelihoods of independent garages are not taken away.
