Recent Study Covered By Online News Sites
Our recent study, that we published to coincide with tyre safety month, was not only an interesting view into people’s thoughts on saving money via buying part worn or retread tyres, but has also caught the eyes of a number of different news websites.
Tyrepress were one of the biggest tyre news providers to cover the story.
In their article they quoted Michael Welch, Managing Director and founder of Blackcircles.com as saying, “buying part worn tyres and retreads might seem like a thrifty alternative to new tyres but it’s vital that motorists also understand the risks. Part-worn and retreads are effectively second hand - they have already been used for an unspecified number of miles with a different vehicle and so are inherently sub-standard compared to brand new models,”
Another site popular for its unbiased and reviews and news articles, Which?, also dedicated an article to the news of our results. Quoting Michael similarly as above, they’ve included his advice and warning, “If you want to cut back on your monthly outgoings then change your supermarket or spend less on clothes, but don’t make the mistake of scrimping on something as important as car tyres and ultimately your safety “.
