In light of the natural disaster that devastated many areas Haiti on the 12th January 2010, the Bridgestone Corporation and two of its subsidiaries – Bridgestone America and Bridgestone Costa Rica – are planning on donating seven million yen (approximately £47,232) to aid the international emergency services with their relief efforts.
The Japanese based Bridgestone will be donating around £16,861 through the Japanese Red Cross Society and Bridgestone Americas is donating £15,180 through the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. On the Latin American side of things, Bridgestone Costa Rica has pledged to donate £15,180 through Habitat for Humanity International.
In order to try and raise even more funds, the employees of Bridgestone Costa Rica are trying to double the amount of aid sent through Habitat for Humanity International by raising and matching the money donated by the company.
