Winter Weather – The Trials and Tribulations
Well, if you hadn’t noticed, the winter weather hit the UK pretty hard this past week.
For us it has been one of – if not the busiest – weeks so far this year. I don’t want to overstate things, but the phones have been literally ringing off the hook and nearly every other query has (unsurprisingly) been about winter tyres.
This high demand has taken a figurative sledgehammer to our winter tyre stock levels – and from what our customers on the phone are saying, this is the case for tyre retailers all over the UK.
For those customers who have been lucky enough to get their hands on these – now rare – tyres, the news that yet more snow is forecast to fall will be as much a worry to those who haven’t. The main piece of advice we can give to motorists in regards to driving in these awful conditions is: don’t.
If you’re journey is not a vital one, you are much safer staying in your warm house and waiting for the weather to pass. It’s pretty obvious I realise, but there are a number of motorists that still don’t take heed of this advice.
Having said that, we at Blackcircles.com know that not all journey’s can be put off and that in times of emergency you may very well need to drive. If this is the case and you are feeling nervous about handling yourself out on the snow and ice covered roads, we have created a winter driving page to help you. It is full of handy tips that could become invaluable if you find yourself in a tricky situation.
