Mindless Vandalism or a Tyre Firm Scam?
A recent crime wave in Feltham – west London – has resulted in residents throughout the area having their car tyres slashed and punctured. Reports coming from the Police Force in the area however, have indicated that this could not be just a simple spate of vandalism
Over the past 2-3 weeks, there has been a reported 23 incidents reported to police, however many victims have claimed that the problem has been going on for much longer.
At the moment in time, the police are not ruling out the possibility that the culprit or culprits could be working for local tyre firms who are trying to boost their tyre sales.
A spokesman for the police, Andy Morgan, said: "In the past we have caught people who simply had mental issues or vendettas against neighbours. We also caught suspects who worked for a tyre firm so were boosting their work".
The Hounslow Chronicle covered the story recently. In an interview with a victim, Lindsey Dyos of Redford Close, it was discovered that her Range Rover had been targeted three times. Speaking to the newspaper, she said, "When the car was keyed it was really obvious because it was so deep. One of our neighbours has got yellow paint on his car.
"We didn't report it to the police the first time, but after three incidents we decided to".
