Goodyear wins in Luxembourg

Chosen for distinction by a jury panel, ahead of 21 other applications, Goodyear Optigrip - SmartWear Technology has been chosen as last year’s Innovation award winner by the Luxembourg Business Federation (FEDIL).

SmartWear Technology is designed to reveal a new compound and grooves as the tyre surface tread wears down in order to maintain wet grip and aquaplaning performance at a high level. This allows the tyre to outperform its main competitors with 20% shorter braking distance on wet roads after 18,000 miles and better straight aquaplaning resistance after 12000 than off the shelve competitor tyres.

Global product Development representative for Goodyear Zoe Zekoski, said “it is a great honour for Goodyear to receive this innovation award. The new SmartWear technology will change people’s vision of tyres.”
