Goodyear Dunlop Bucks the trend


“In December, more than 1 in 4 car tyres sold in the UK was from the Goodyear Dunlop brand portfolio.”

Bucking the trend of a 0.6% market decline, Goodyear Dunlop claims its market share has grown steadily, reaching a 2 year high in December 2008. With December 2008 sales 6% higher than December 2007, UK and Ireland Group Managing Director Mark Brickhall, has claimed a strong and diverse portfolio of brands has been key to gaining market share.

Mr Brickhall also stated that “During a downturn many Tyre dealers are finding their customers will buy premium Goodyear, rather than trading down to mid-tier and budget” and hence Goodyear Dunlop has focused on product development for its premium brands including the launch of the “acclaimed” Dunlop Sport Maxx TT and the “truly innovative” Goodyear Optigrip.
